{artist statement}

Using my own experience within Southern culture I play with the delicate balance of its upbringing, traditions, and values and examine the contradictions it brings to modern society.  By doing so my work investigates how societal norms affect the relationships and understanding of modern culture in order to understand the current bonds we universally have to tradition.
